In today's interconnected world, our dependence on critical infrastructure is ever increasing. Understanding the vulnerabilities of infrastructure and their capacity for recovery following a major disruptive event is crucial for everyone owners, users and those organisations who depend on their services. Risk mitigation requires a comprehensive appreciation of the vital role of risk communication. This is essential in establishing realistic expectations of performance and service restoration. This is not just a task for infrastructure owners for effective risk management all who have a role in societal recovery need to express and address the
dependencies and risks that arise from infrastructure vulnerability. This workshop addresses this necessary skill in the risk management tool-kit.

Presentations and break-out sessions in this workshop will focus on:

  • Targeting the risk message
  • Getting the environment right and establishing trust
