Decription:
Reliability
of Electricity Supply is the report
of CAE's third major project, which
was carried out in 1992/93. In New
Zealand, electricity has a 48 percent
share of the non-transport energy
market, making it the single most
important energy source in the country.
Supply reliability is an important
issue, as electricity consumers
have come to expect a constant supply.
Furthermore, electricity deregulation
has introducted competitive energy
trading, which may influence relative
reliability levels offered by electricity
retailers.
The Reliability of Electricity Supply
project provides a set of guidelines
to simplify the complexities of
electricity supply relability for
customers who wish to make informed
decisions regarding the most cost-effective
power supply for their needs. The
project provides information that
will assist customers to make a
proper assessment of the available
investment options. Project work
included a survey of domestic and
commercial customers as to the degree
of electricity supply reliability
they expect.
The project work brought toghether
a large body of research work and
incorporated current international
thinking on issues pertinent to
electricity reliability in a framework
relevant to the New Zealand environment.
Reliability of Electricity Supply
is available in two volumes —
the full Project Report (367 pages
hardbound) and the Project Overview
(40 pages softbound). |
