Decription:
Environmental
issues contain some of the gravest
problems that face the earth, and
engineers have a key role to play.
But does a traditional engineering
education prepare engineers to deal
with these problems?
The Environmentally Educated Engineer
- Focus on Fundamentals addresses
the issues involved in the education
of environmentally concerned engineers.
It is based on a three-day international
workshop held in Christchurch, New
Zealand, in August 1994. The purpose
of the workshop was to develop a
fundamental raitonale and framework
on which courses and qualifications
for environmentally-educated engineers
should be based.
The workshop was sponsored by the
Association for Engieering Education
in South East Asia and the Pacific,
UNESCO, the World Federation of
Engineering Organisations, the Centre
for Advanced Engineering and the
International Association for Continuing
Engineering Education. |
