Viewing and Download Problems The pages look scrambled, or the graphics are out of place This occasionally occurs when browsing with Mozilla (and varients such as Firefox) - if the page is refreshed, the problem generally goes away. Please note that older browsers (earlier than IE5 or equivalent) will not interpret these pages correctly. We recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser. The site has been tested and should function with the latest versions of IE, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, Safari, Opera and Camino under Windows 9.x, Windows XP, Mac OS9.x, Mac OSX and Linux (Red Hat and Mandrake).
I click on a download link
and nothing happens, or my browser tells me it doesn't know what
to Downloads on this site are in pdf, Microsoft Word or zip format. To open pdfs you need the Adobe Acrobat Reader (available free from Adobe). If your browser is configured to do so, pdfs can be opened directly in a browser window. A copy can be saved on your hard drive by selecting File: Save. If your browser is not configured to open pdfs, right-click on the file name (control click on a Mac) and select 'Download Link to Disk'. Your browser may be configured to open files saved in Word format directly in a window, but it is preferable to download the file to your hard drive. Zip files cannot be opened in a browser window and must be downloaded to your hard drive. The archive will need to be unzipped to gain access to the files. Recent versions of all major operating systems have built-in unzipping utilities; for older systems, you may need to download a suitable utility from sites such as Download.com or Tucows.
I can't open/read pdf files I've downloaded To save space, most pdf files on this site have been reduced in size. As a consequence, files can only be opened in Acrobat Reader version 6 or better. We recommend always using the latest version for your platform. To upgade Acrobat Reader (free download) go to the Acrobat website. pdfs won't open/partially open in my browser For a browser to open pdf files within a browser window, it needs to have the latest version of the pdf reader plugin installed (check the vendor site for your browser) and sufficient system resources to open the file correctly. If you are unsure, it is best to download a copy of the pdf to your local hard drive.
Other Issues Where are the links? Links throughout the site appear in green (but are not underlined). When your mouse hovers over a link, the link will show it is active by turning blue. I have a problem not covered above... Contact webmaster@caenz.com for more assistance. |
