DG Programme - International Visitors


 

 

CAE has held a series of successful Workshops on DG since 2002. Below are the key international speakers at each Workshop. Presentations from the 2005 and 2006 Workshops are available for download (see box on main page for links). Presentations from earlier Workshops are available on request from CAE (see Contacts link on the left of this page).

 

DG Workshop 1
Held in Christchurch, June 2002 with the theme: "DG Opportunities for NZ"

Dr Malcolm Kennedy, Chairman PB Power Ltd, UK, and past President of the IEE gave a keynote address "Distributed Generation, a UK perspective: harder than it looks!"

 

DG Workshop 2
Held in Christchurch, June 2003 with the theme: "DG: Market Development & Investment Opportunities"

Dr Jerry Jackson, President, Jackson Associates, USA gave a keynote address "When will the DG Market Take Off?"

 

DG Workshop 3
Held in Christchurch, June 2003 with the theme: "Mainstreaming DG".

Bill Plews, ex. Yorkshire Electricity, sponsored by the IEE, spoke on: "DG: a UK Response".
Harry Schaap from Australia, also presented a paper on "Demand Response and Competitive Electricity Markets"

 

DG Workshop 4
Held in Auckland, June 2005 with the theme: "Implementing NZ's DG Options"

Keynote speakers were Jeff Bell, World Alliance for Distributed Energy and Dr Dragana Popovic, Energy Networks Association (sponsored by the IEE). Bell's topic was: " DE: European Experience and Possible Implications for NZ". Popovic's topic was: "Managing for Growth in DG & Planning for the Future"
Ray Pannam, Energex, Australia, presented the paper: "Embedded Generation, an Australian Perspective"

 

DG Workshop 5
Held in Auckland, June 2006 with the theme: "DG and the Consequences for New Zealand's Power System"

Alex Baitch, Principal BES (Aust) Pty Ltd and convener CIGRE APC6 spoke on "Distributed Systems & Dispersed Generation"
Mark Lively, Consultant, spoke on "Innovative Rate Design & Real-time Pricing of Intermittent Power"
Dr Jonathan Russell, Consultant, sponsored by the IET, spoke on "DG and the UK Regulatory Environment"
